A Message from the Owner's
As the owners of Gee’s Little Bee’s we would like to thank all parents and carers for putting their full trust into us from the moment we opened our door in April 2019. We appreciate the decision on where to send your children is a difficult one and we have given a great deal of thought to our settings, ensuring that they are happy, secure, homely and nurturing environments for your children to grow and develop. Within the nursery, we both play a very active part in overseeing everything that goes on within the nursery and getting to know both the children and parents/carers. We are unbelievably proud of our staff team, who are just like family. The team at Gee’s Little Bee’s are highly qualified early years educators. Our amazing staff have all been carefully selected for their qualifications, skills and friendly and caring natures. We absolutely love our little bee family, it is the most rewarding job in the world, watching each individual child grow, shine and develop into young children.

What is the Early Years Foundation Stage?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is how the Government and the early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and age 5.
This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. From when your child is born up until the age of 5, their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure; and support development, care and learning needs.
Nurseries, pre-schools. reception classes and childminders registered to deliver the EYFS must follow a legal document called the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
The EYFS sets out:
-
The legal welfare requirements that everyone registered to look after children must follow to keep your child safe and promote their welfare
-
The 7 areas of learning and development which guide professionals' engagement with your child's play and activities as they learn new skills and knowledge
-
Assessments that will tell you about your child's progress through the EYFS
-
Expected levels that your child should reach at the age of 5, usually at the end of the reception year; these expectations are called "Early Learning Goals (ELGs)"
